Nursery Success...So Far

I am astounded. I mean I must have looked into that little nursery door window 125 times in just two hours! Enzo, the total mommy's boy, went to nursery today for the first time. He saw the play doh on the table and could have cared less that Marco was busy saying his sentimental goodbyes. There were a couple of minor break downs (and one escape) but the leaders in his nursery class had it all under control in no time. Way to go bud! He looked like such a big boy sitting at the table having snacks and popping bubbles, but the mini tables and chairs probably added to the illusion. He is still my baby, can't believe he's growing up! His smile is priceless! Here you see he now thinks he is old enough to have his own cell phone, maybe he's right since he DID successfully call his Grandma Vicki while I was trying to snap this picture. Too fun!

Kind of ironic then that Arianna, who successfully goes to her Sunbeam class each and every week, had a bit of a melt down herself. I was about to begin teaching the gospel doctrine class when they brought me in a tear-stain-faced little girl. I guess she wasn't a fan of the substitute teachers and just lost it. She has always been stranger-danger aware, even from before she could talk or even crawl (many of her closest friends and family got her infamous "crusty" look on more than one occasion). Fortunately there was another sunbeam class and she was more comfortable with "Grandma" Ahlstrom as her teacher, so she settled down and enjoyed class after all. She was real proud of her little brother making through nursery though, she is such a cheerleader.
We'll let you know how subsequent tries go, both with nursery and with substitute teachers. Wish us luck!
