Thanks for all the encouragement to keep up with this blogging business; I'll do my best.
You MUST know what Enzo is up to. Perhaps you've had a son or two yourself and this is nothing new to you, but (whoa!!!) it is a new ride for me. Enzo LOVES to explore (which is fabulous) but why must it be in the toilet??!! He must open a toilet lid 25 times a day, then tries to climb right up on top. If I am not as attentive as I should be (my hands are in the middle of Arianna's ponytail and it has taken me 14 tries to get it right so I'm not letting go for anything, for instance) he even dips his feet right in. I guess I'd rather his feet than his hands, right? But still! What is this fascination with porcelain???
Luckily for me, he has learned that he can climb on top of the bathroom counters. So sometimes when I rush into the bathroom to find out what he is up to, he is merely singing Rub Rub Rub and pretending to wash his hands w/ the soap (which he can't yet get out...yet) or water (by my next blog he'll be able to access both). So he is very Jekyll and Hyde, really clean or really dirty. I can handle that. I just don't want a broken armed boy before the age of 2...or after, for that matter.
His favorite word is "no" and he is really good at using it. However, he says a million other things too, his newest is "all done" which he just came out with after he was done with dinner so that we would know he wanted to be free of his 'restrictive' high chair. He was almost as surprised as we were that he could say it so that we could understand him. He LOVES the power of words. "Hold me" might just be his other favorite phrase to say, funny how he seems sooooooo independent and yet really needs his parents. I love that!
As for Arianna, she is the one in 'recovery' (thus the title of this blog). She is our poor asthma case. Her asthma got bad enough the day before yesterday that we had her into the after hours clinic. The did the whole oxygen test to see how much she was getting, not nearly enough so they put her on a nebulizer to get some steroids into her system. Not quite the response we all hoped for, so then it was another nebulizer, then prednazone but she was still not doing as well as we wanted. So now we have her on a mini breathing mask right here at home three times a day, or more as needed. :(
She seems to be doing MUCH better today, except that her tummy isn't happy. Either because of my food, or maybe that nasty pool bug that is invading the area. Ugh! Wish her luck! Through all of this she had a birthday to celebrate which she did w/ as much energy she could muster. She and her friends had loads of fun!
Just one more thing. Marco's grandpa Clinger passed away last week. He was an amazing man with such zest for life and such love for others. We will all miss him dearly. We talked to Arianna a lot about what death means and where Grandpa is now etc. She seems to have a pretty good grasp on all of that and was comfortable with the funeral and all. In the days following the services Arianna thanked Heavenly Father for Grandpa Clinger and for the opportunity to go to his funeral and say goodbye. She says some of the greatest things when she prays, she inspires us all.
Sorry, this is longer than I planned. Good night.
