26.2 Miles of the Pain I LOVE!

Last Saturday I woke up in the weeeeee hours of the morning, strapped on my runners and headed up the Provo Canyon: nervous, excited, ready to run. At 6 am Carrie and I began the first of just 26.2 miles we would run that day down the Provo Canyon, through the River bottoms, to the Lake and then back up to the the Provo Towne Center. This would be my first marathon. I might have said ONLY marathon, but it was SO fun, I am just not willing to go there.
The weather was PERFECT, the trail was gorgeous and the company was grand! I loved seeing my cheering squad along the trail at mile 9 and then again around 10.5. They were so cute! Thanks for getting everyone up and out there babe!
It didn't get hard until the 22nd mile or so. That surprised me. I thought it would be pure torture from start to finish, but I was just LOVING it! Cruising along side the rushing waters of the Provo River, I haven't ever enjoyed a run so much! The migraine hit about mile 23. So if I look like I was about to fall over, it's because that is EXACTLY how I felt! :) But in a good way. Is that possible?
My amazing running partner. Couldn't have done it w/o her.
Thanks again babe! That was a lot of time away from the fam and you were such a great support.
Ahhhh, mission accomplished!

My Little Grown Ups

Every hear that song, "Anything you can do I can do better" from the musical "Annie Get Your Gun"?? Enzo isn't exactly there, but anything his big sis can do, he is SURE he can do it likewise. So here he is, riding his bike w/o training wheels. He rode all around the park a few times once Daddy taught him how to keep himself balanced. I love his determination and drive! He has been a passionate soul from the get go, but that is balanced so nicely by this very sensitive and caring side that is so endearing. Way to go bud!

It was a HOT afternoon and these girls had HAD it! It was time to take advantage of the situation. They did a wonderful job recruiting and planning and selling the most tasty snowcones I ever did eat! They are MBA ready.

3 Amigos

I was so tickled when I peeked outside to find this site.
The big guy could have gotten the job done substantially quicker w/o so much help, to be sure but these helpers weren't willing to spend any moments apart from their daddy, nor he from them, not if it could be avoided.

That was two weeks ago. The grass is certainly in need of a good mowing again. More importantly, we are all in need of some real good time with the big guy again! We made it! Today he comes home! Enzo has cried for him on nearly a daily basis, Arianna prayed for him at each sitting and Massimo repeatedly chanted his name hoping it would bring him home just that much sooner. I did a little of each and then some. Welcome home to the best dad and husband this little gang could have!! We love you!
